Question by Amy Clark: I will need some discomfort relief rapidly.. please assist?
I had a enormous cavity that I left “un-fixed” for about 2 years. A few months ago right after not becoming able to deal with the discomfort anymore- I went in and had it fixed. The dentist stated it wasn’t abscessed or anything- so he just did a filling. (Like half my tooth was missing)
Anyways- right after that it was fine… no discomfort- nothing. Nevertheless about 2 weeks ago I started to get dull discomfort in the tooth. But on Friday night it got genuinely poor. Just horrible pains- worse than prior to I had it fixed. The dentist told me, if abscessed or one thing that the pain would be 10x worse than prior to and then I would will need a root canal.
So my question is. I gave birth to my 3rd child on Nov 14- and had some 800mg IBuprofin left from the discomfort meds they gave me for following my c-section. I have been taking them every single 6 hours since friday night when the pain got poor- but the pain is still horrible- It feels like the medicine is not even performing Something. The dentist does not have an emergency quantity or anything- so I cannot call until Monday and who knows if I can get in Monday or I may have to wait a couple of more days. What the heck can I do for some discomfort relief- the discomfort is just unbearable. However it goes in “waves”- I can go 2 hours with no discomfort and BAM out of nowhere- just horrible discomfort- all shooting up the side of my face behind my eye and in my cheek bone etc.. then it lasts 30 minutes or so and goes away. At times I get relief for 10 minutes and other times it is a few hours.

Can anybody help me or tell me something else I can do for some discomfort relief? This is awful!

I don’t know if this will work, but try this. I feel on the very same side as the tooth clip a clothespin to your earlobe. If that does not work try the other side. I tried it once and it seemed to work.
